Algolia Search
Updated Apr 19, 2025 ·
Overview
This is how I added search functionality to my Docusaurus site using Algolia DocSearch. There are official guides available, which I followed and adapted to suit my setup:
Requirements
To apply for Algolia DocSearch, your site must meet these conditions:
- It should be a technical documentation site or blog.
- You must own the site or have permission to update it.
- The site must be public, with no login or paywalls.
- The site must be complete and ready for production.
How to Apply
Start by applying to the DocSearch program. You’ll need to provide:
- The URL of your documentation or blog
- Your email address
After submitting, you’ll see a confirmation message and receive an auto-reply email with a ticket number.
Accept Invitation
Once your application is approved, you’ll receive a follow-up email with detailed instructions. If you don’t already have an Algolia account, sign up for one. After logging in, you’ll see an invitation. Simply click Accept to proceed.
